Friends of West Norwood Cemetery: Preserving memory and keeping history alive

2.30pm start
FREEdonations welcome, no booking required
Sally Strachey Historic Conservation have worked at Norwood for many years. ...

In this talk, presented by Sally Strachey, Sally will explore the technical challenges of three very different conservation projects to preserve the character and fabric of buildings and monuments for the long term benefit of the public. The case studies to be explored are Norwood, Temple Church Bristol, and the Horsey and Princess Elizabeth Monuments at the Church of St Thomas, Newport Minster on the Isle of Wight. Whilst looking at these current projects we will consider what are we conserving, who we are doing it for, and the importance of memory and sense of place to allow visitors to have a direct conversation with the past.

This talk is presented by the Friends of West Norwood Cemetery, as part of their annual AGM.
Please visit their website: Friends of West Norwood Cemetery for more information on their work, and how to support and join the registered charity.
