More on Mark McLaughlin

www.markmclaughlinartist.co.uk/

Living and working in South London, the inspiration for Mark’s paintings is often in the everyday life he finds around him - the parks and streets of West Norwood, Herne Hill, Dulwich and beyond.
The effects of changing light and seasons, plus the connection between man-made and the natural, are constant themes in his work.
Through his passion for cycling he also enjoys discovering new and interesting places to paint. Armed with box easel and canvasses – he will set up where inspiration finds him, spending hours on location and often returning to the same spot to fully capture the spirit of the scene.
Mark is based at Clockwork Studio, Camberwell - a vibrant and established community of artists – for some 20 years.
Mark exhibits widely and has work in private collections in the UK, Europe, Australia and in the USA.
He also exhibits regularly in a variety of society shows including:
The Royal Society of British Artists, The Royal Institute of Oil Painters and The Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour. He has also exhibited at The Royal Academy of Arts Summer Show on several occasions.
Mark has just been announced as the winner of the Brixton Blog and Bugle Summer Art Show with his beautiful and atmospheric painting: Late Summer in Brockwell Park. He says: 'Loved the play of light from the Oak tree! Painted on location over several sessions' - see below:
