Strategic Partnership Board
West Norwood Cemetery is currently managed by a Strategic Partnership Board.
1. Background
For the past six years a National Lottery Heritage Fund project has been undertaken in West Norwood Cemetery. The project formed the substantial final element of work that Lambeth Council were required to undertake to restore and manage the cemetery following the series of legal cases in the 1990's to stop Lambeth from continuing its 'lawn conversion' policy. Lambeth Council now owns the whole of the cemetery, having taken over ownership of the Hellenic Enclosure (previously called the Greek Enclosure) from the Trustees of the Greek Cathedral Cemetery Enclosures Trust Fund prior to this recent Lottery project commencing.
