Walking with Words - a free creative course exploring nature and inspiring writing

Wednesdays 3, 10, 17 and 24 June

This creative workshop combining walking, tea and writing is spread over four sessions - one per week - and is entirely free, but booking is essential due to number limits - please read on for details:

Led by local writer and storyteller Sally Pomme Clayton, each session starts with a gentle guided walk through the cemetery. Pomme will then guide you with simple, fun and playful creative writing prompts based on the beautiful natural surroundings.

Friends of West Norwood Cemetery - WWII Graves at West Norwood Cemetery

There are commemorations of 70 service personnel and over 160 civilian fatal casualties from the Second World War in West Norwood Cemetery. This walk, lasting some 1.5 hours, will visit 20 monuments including those of civilian victims of the Blitz and V1/V2 attacks, and those of service personnel from all services and theatres of war, including prisoners of both the Japanese and Germans. Spring Open Day

We would like to welcome you to West Norwood Cemetery's Spring Open Day to celebrate our wonderful cemetery and green space.

We will have stalls with information about all things local, free children's activities, a Flora and Fauna walk and Tours by Friends of West Norwood Cemetery. 

The Visitors Centre will be open for everyone to find out about the history of this wonderful cemetery and the work carried out by the recently completed National Heritage Lottery Project 'A New Beginning'. 

No need to book - just come and join us!
